Seller. Absolutely Nice Vintage
“Over the past 10 years or so, taxidermy has become one of those popular status symbol items that it once was. I mean, is your home even fashionable anymore if you don't have at least one stuffed animal or skull on display?
Well luckily for you, we're on hand to update your home into the stylish haven you wish it to be. This stunning 1930s sparrow is a great example of early 20th Century taxidermy and comes complete with it's original hand blown glass display dome. There is a lovely brass plaque attached to the front inscribed "2.30 p.m. 31.05.1937 No.500".
Perched proudly onto of a small rock with artificial grass, this lovely little chap has been nicely preserved and is a great way to see these shy little creatures close up. In good condition for its age, there is a small part of the internal wire peeping out of the top of the head, a couple of little bubbles in the glass dome plus some flea bites/tiny chips along the dome's rim. Along with some wear to the wooden stand, this item is sure to add plenty of vintage charm to any home. ”
