The Good Life Experience is a festival like no other. It was founded in 2014 by four friends Cerys Matthews, Steve 'Abbo' Abbott and Charlie and Caroline Gladstone who have created a British festival that is genuinely different. It is a weekend of the very best Music, Food, Books, Workshops, and The Great Outdoors. It is a voyage of fun and discovery for the whole family. Learn to throw an axe or fire an arrow…cook on a campfire with Tom Herbert of The Fabulous Baker Brothers…abseil…eat some spectacular British food…learn how to make sausages or pluck a pigeon...discover your new favourite craft beer or cider…dance….take time out with some yoga and tai chi…learn bushcraft...see world class chefs...whittle a spoon...eat a s'more...ride the helter skelter...enjoy a cocktail in the woods...meet adventurers...forage...listen to experts from the most diverse fields and sharpen your axe. This and loads more is The Good Life Experience.
2016 promises to be even more exceptional than 2015, with more free rides, activities, talks, classes and demonstrations. Once you are on site, almost everything you see and do -besides food and drink- is free. And -importantly- dogs are welcome both at the festival and in the campsite.
We have simplified the ticketing system for 2016 in response to your comments and have raised the age from 9 to 12 that children can join us entirely free of charge. One guest told us that her children enjoyed over 100 free fairground rides this year! We say ‘make it 200 in 2016’. We will be offering only one simple camping price this year. And, what's more, this will entitle you to four nights of camping, from the Thursday evening through to Monday. A few local attractions will be opening their doors to Good Life Experience Guests on the day before the festival so you can make a proper long weekend of it.
Remove the hassle from camping with pre-erected canvas bell tents, complete with up to 4 or six camp beds, lamps and groundsheet. Our bell tent campsite is close to the main arena and has the impressive backdrop of Hawarden Old Castle. If you have already paid for camping and would like to choose this option, call us on 01244 784 122 and we’ll deduct the price paid from the price owed. Please note that campers who choose to rent bell tents should choose the non-camping ticket option.
