Seller. Tamara Broido: Reclectic
"A beautiful pair of fashion plates showing women's daywear, from a series entitled 'Illustrirte Frauen-Zeitung'. They are both hand coloured lithographs, one from the 1880s and the other from the early 1900s. Each plate also has a number of pages from the magazine itself stacked behind them which gives a wonderful example of the magazine/newspaper of the time. The colours are so gorgeous and vibrant, and the details of the women's clothes are stunning. The plates are unframed, and in really lovely condition, with slight fraying on the edges. These plates are wonderful illustrations of women's clothing for normal everyday use, in the late 1800s and early 1900s in Germany.
Styling tips: A gorgeous pair of vintage prints which will look beautiful framed together or even hanging from a large clip or even lay them flat on a beautiful silver tray on an interesting table. They have a wonderful warm feel and will add some interesting vintage charm to a study or living room."
