Seller. Julie Knight, Ember Gate.
"Hand-thrown Victorian thumb pots with minor imperfections such as small chips, a slight unevenness of shape and even the odd potter's thumbprint. All have a single irregular drainage hole in the base and provide for a multitude of uses today: potted herbs, small bulb displays in autumn and winter, or garden-themed wedding favours. Sourced from the family of a Hertfordshire nurseryman, they are a wonderful remnant of the market garden industry that thrived in Hertfordshire and Essex. Allow for minor variances in size due to their handcrafted origin."
