Seller. Christophe Charlot, Beaune, France.
"I am a third generation brocanteur (our son Jimmie is trading now, so he is the fourth). We have always specialised in table wares and garden ornaments. Theses earthenware pots are some of my favourite pieces of French household design. These were all made near to Beaune where they would have been found in every home and every professional kitchen, too. Pickling of vegetables, fruit and meat was once an essential part of French cuisine. Now the pots are perfect for storing your wooden spoons or paint brushes or even for your pot plants. But the best bit is that they just look wonderful, too. No two are ever quite the same; the colours refuting the colours of the earth from which they were made."
