Seller. Debbie Kendall of The Enlightened Hound.
"This humorous cover by illustrator Devera Ehrenburg shows two dog owners on park bench. Full of possibility, as the dogs tentatively greet each other, the drawing suggests that perhaps their human owners could also strike up a friendship. The New Yorker magazine was first published in 1925. Still going strong today, it covers a variety of topics from current affairs, biographical studies, reviews and events in the city, short fiction, commentaries on popular culture and cartoons. Its iconic covers are commissioned by well known artists, illustrators and cartoonists, on which dogs are a regular feature.
Framed in a custom made reclaimed wood frame (to complete the vintage vibe) - hand painted and waxed. Each frame has its own pattern of knots, dinks, scratches, nail holes, wonky edges and aged patina. Fitted with crystal clear acrylic ’glass’ and ready to hang."
