These fantastic jackets represent the Holy Grail for us. It took a lot of negotiation with the grand children of a couple who closed their clothing shop/cafe in 1955. But we’ve managed to secure a very large collection of 1940s and ‘50s dead stock French workwear. This is a fantastic haul of the very finest workwear which has lain undisturbed on the shop’s shelves in Burgundy for 61 years.
These classic 100% cotton moleskin jackets were made in France by Le Francais in the 1940s or early ‘50s. The moleskin has a lovely, soft sheen. Three external patch pockets, one internal. They were extremely dusty when we acquired them so we have washed them gently and dried them in the sun. They are supplied with their original label (as shown). A bona fide classic that you’re very unlikely to see elsewhere.
