Aiden Lassell Ripley (1896-1969) was an outdoorsman as well as one of the most respected painters of the great outdoors. Born in Wakefield MA, he studied art as a young man before joining the army. Standing 6 foot 2 inches tall and almost permanently sporting a cowboy hat and hunting jacket ‘Old Rip’ was an avid conservationist as well as painter. This 1940s print is in its (original?) frame which has seen better days (we can reframe). The print is in excellent condition with lovely colours and is a pure a piece of Americana as we have found. A winner.
