VINTspiration: Series 44
March 16, 2018 - Inspiration
Like every Sunday, today we’re back with another VINTspiration post and more Vintage Inspiration for you to tuck into.
Scary Monsters. This might be controversial but we think Scary Monsters… might just be David Bowie’s best album. Perhaps. Anyway, you should own it and it has just been reissued.
"Simplicity is the key to brilliance.” It is, indeed; and this snippet of film from a forthcoming documentary on all-round genius Dieter Rams (with original music by Brian Eno, no less) whets our appetite.
Design. A lovely, simple, modern but reassuringly old-fashioned design for the Italian seed masters Piccolo.
Museums. Do we have too many museums in Britain? There has been some rumbling in the press on this subject recently. But we say how can you have too many museums? Anyway, do you know the Derwent Pencil Museum? You should!
Mark E Smith. We should probably have done this some weeks ago. But Smith was a true original; a vintage artist. I once saw him kick his own roadie; it shouldn’t have been funny but it was. Here’s a good piece on Caught by the River.
