Like every Sunday, today we’re back with another VINTspiration post and more Vintage Inspiration for you to tuck into.
Feeling bold? This geometric wallpaper from Cole & Son is absolutely sensational. On some levels it’s very ‘full-on’ but the colour palette is rich and sophisticated and we think your home could absolutely rock it.
A vintage album reissued this month. Roxy Music’s classic eponymous lp gets the re-release treatment this month. It first appeared in 1972 when very few people (including, it seems, most of the staff at the band’s record label, Island) had a clue what to make of the bands’ dress sense or approach to making music. But Roxy were proved right and their visionary approach has influenced generations of bands and their fans. It’s a classic and you should probably own it.
Copper is continuing to enjoy its moment in the spotlight. It brings seriousness, warmth and integrity to any room. Whenever we offer copper for sale it sells quickly. These lamps by Neils Bak Rasmussen are excellent (and the oxidised aluminium is great, too).
This 1942 gravestone to a loyal horse has joined Historic England’s list. There’s something deeply moving about such a permanent and heartfelt memorial to a much-loved animal.
Vintage Photos ...of trees. This is a wonderful exhibition at the V and A in London and includes a phenomenal work by Ansel Adams.
