VINTspiration: Series 3
May 12, 2017 - Inspiration
Back again for its third installment, we are really enjoying putting together these lists of our Vintage inspirations for you. It truly is the stuff that fuels us at Pedlars Vintage, so thanks for taking the time to read, click and learn. This is what we found this week:
Shop! The Shopkeepers is a website close to our hearts. It monitors and reports on the best small shops worldwide and as such has placed itself somewhere near the heartbeat of businesses like ours where passion and knowledge outweigh the desire to grow huge. Their weekly newsletter is full of inspiration. Here are their favourite 20 vintage and antique shops (Pedlars included!)
Proper Old Fashioned Travel. Not vintage, per se, but rooted in one of the golden age of train travel, this brand new Japanese sleeper train costs around £2000 for a ten hour journey. So, while we won’t be taking it any time soon we will be dreaming of it.
Stay! Some great locations for lovers of vintage here.
Light! Bert Frank’s mid century inspired lighting is not cheap, but it is made in Birmingham. And not only is it beautifully made but also straddles the vintage/modern look perfectly.
Re Floor Your Kitchen or Bathroom! With these fantastic traditional/modern vinyl coverings at around £60 per square metre.
Are Vintage Plates on Walls Naff? We were discussing this in the office this week and the consensus was absolutely not…when done well.
Sit! This is a really good vintage-inspired chair for under £100 and in some good colours, too. Future vintage!
Rummage! One of our favourite US flea markets is open for the season again. It’s within striking distance of New York and Boston (or the Hamptons if you’re lucky enough to be summering there, of course) and well worth the journey.
Look out for your weekly VINTspiration every Sunday. In the meantime take a look at our previous VINTspirations by clicking here.
