These date from the 1930s and '40s and were manufactured in Argentina, which was then home to a blossoming industry in coloured glass. American soda water manufacturers travelled to Argentina in the early 1900s to choose from a large array of coloured glass. Many of the bottles were then exported to the US, where they were collected from homes and restaurants each day and refilled. The date of manufacture is generally stamped on the neck of the bottle.
These have been fully cleaned and restored, and are manufactured of strong, last-forever glass. The colours are spectacular, and although they no longer function as containers for soda water, they make great decorative objects or can be used as vases.
Colours Only Red available.
Size 10cm (w) x 30cm (h), 1 litre capacity.
