Winner! Daily Telegraph Awards Game of the Year
A brilliant family game for children from about 10 upwards* and adults. This has been the deserved winner of a number of prestigious awards.
This is a fast, highly competitive word game with a clever ticking bomb as its main feature. The aim is simple, to construct words which include the letters on the cards, before the bomb goes off. At the start of each round the bomb is activated, and starts ticking. It then ticks for between ten seconds and a minute (the duration changes, randomly, from one round to another) before ‘exploding’.
Once the bomb is ticking a card is turned over. The letters revealed on this card must then be used to make words until the end of the round. Once a team (or individual player) has come up with a word, the bomb, and the onus to think of a word, is passed to the next team or player. This process continues until the bomb explodes, at which point the team holding it loses the round, and keeps the card. When play ends the team or player with the fewest cards wins.
A brilliant, often raucous game when played by a group of adults, but equally good (and generally equally raucous) played at a slower pace with children. This can be played by teams or individuals and is, quite simply, a brilliant family game that is destined to become a classic.
*It says 12 years upwards on the box, but our ten year olds have always enjoyed it enormously.
