Feist. The Reminder

What the papers say
‘This should transform her into a fully-fledged star.  A profound pop gem….filled with love songs and hints of mystery.’
The New York Times.

If you like Joni Mitchell, or KT Tunstall try

Who is she?
Leslie Feist.  This is her third solo album.  She is also a central member of the ultra-hip Canadian musical collective, Broken Social Scene.

What do I get?
This album is about to be huge! It is stuffed full of lovely, ballsy, sing-along gems that will work their clever way into your head and refuse to let go.  This is a rare beast: intelligent pop that will appeal to both the cognoscenti and those that only buy a couple of albums a year.  At its centre is the marvellous 1 2 3 4, a gently-swinging tune that starts like a nursery rhyme and builds to a beautiful mass-chorused crescendo.  This, alone, justifies buying this wonderful record.  But there are five or six other absolute gems here.

And?
There’s a fantastic video –filmed in one take- for 1 2 3 4, that’s attracting huge numbers of viewings on youtube. Have a look.
