Look out for the Dog of the Year competition... coming soon!
Week 58's Dog of the Week is... Albert
Alaina Dunne has nominated her 12 week old Labradoodle, Albert, for Dog of the Week. Alaina says ‘Albert has been on his first walk this week and although he was scared and reluctant he soon got into the swing of things and even made some new doggy friends. He is a lovely little boy, very affectionate and bright and we feel very lucky to have him (when he's not trying to get up to the forbidden land of upstairs!)’. Albert... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 57's Dog of the Week is... Coco
Debbie Davenport wanted to introduce her lovely 2 year old chocolate Labrador, Coco. Debbie says ‘She is always in the thick of family life with our 3 children and is super agile; playing football with the boys, trying to join in on the trampoline, pruning the rhododendrons - without our consent - and constantly up to mischief with our 3 year old daughter! She is a lost soul when the children aren't around but does enjoy a good run around in the woods with her best doggy pal, Poppy, another chocolate lab. At Christmas she takes great pride in sporting all the paper hats from the crackers around her neck ready for her Christmas Day walk'. Coco... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 56's Dog of the Week is... Olive
This week’s Dog of the Week was sent in by Tif Fussell, who lives near Seattle. Tif says 'Little Olive is nine months old and she is a mini dachshund. She has a love of all things crocheted and sleeps within the comforts of a vintage suitcase. She is often up to 'no good' but that's okay, as our older, more wiser, greyhound/lab mix of 11 years, keeps her in line'. Olive... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 55's Dog of the Week is... Frankie and Molly
Frankie and Molly have been nominated by their owner, Vicky Kelsall, in Stockport, Cheshire. Vicky says 'They are both rescue westies that came from a puppy farm and were abandoned when they could no longer be used for breeding. They came to me scared, sad and looking very sorry for themselves, but three years on are now spoilt rotten and love nothing more than snuggling up together in their Lloyd Loom chair on a vintage cushion in the sunshine. They make me so happy everyday and I only hope they have finally found happiness after their rough start in life’. Frankie and Molly... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 54's Dog of the Week is... Sam
Judith Adams sent in this picture of Sam, her precious rescue dog, enjoying the recent Christmas snow. Judith says 'Sam is nearly two years old and we adopted him last January. He 'replaced' our little dog who was killed a few weeks before. Both dogs and our Jack Russell, Ben, have brought so much to our lives, me especially as I suffer from depression. To come home to two little wet noses and lots of kisses is just a reminder of how much love there is in these beautiful animals and if we showed a tenth of the love they did, this would be a happier more fulfilled world for us'. Sam... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 53's Dog of the Week is... Hester
Heidi Mattei sent in this picture of Hester, a Mini Wire Haired Dachshund. Heidi says 'Hester really thinks she is a big dog. She is my best friend and shares all my secrets, she loves other dogs, especially border collies, and has the ability to make everyone fall in love with her instantly... even people who don't like dogs'. Hester... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 52's Dog of the Week is... Jem and Suki
Adam Swan sent in this picture of his two five-year-old Jack Russells, Jem and Suki. Adam says ‘The two sisters love nothing more than a run on the beach, either at home in Dundee, or at weekends and holidays at their retreat in the west highlands of Scotland. The girls are never apart and adore their dads, Adam (me) and Andrew. They are fearless and loyal and will see off intruders, whether mouse or (post)man, bicycle or bin lorry. They eat sensibly, with a particular taste for avocado, cashew nuts and goji berries (as treats); though – and as proved yesterday – can cause a plate of unwatched biscuits to evaporate in a millisecond’. Jem and Suki... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 51's Dog of the Week is... Maisey
Cathy Elliot-Falls sent in this picture of Maisey on her first ever walk on their local tow path. Maisey is a 23 week old labrador/staffordshire terrior cross. Cathy says ‘We rescued her from a shelter in the South of Ireland when she was 13 weeks old. She is a very smart puppy, and the love of our lives. She has just completed her puppy obedience classes, where she loved playing with the other puppies. After playtime she put her thinking cap on, and has now mastered commands such as sit, down, stand, speak, wait, come, twist, heel, crawl and giving her paw’. Maisey... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 50's Dog of the Week is... Ted
Sally Trevaskis sent in a picture of her five year old Blue Roan Cocker Spaniel, Ted. Sally says 'Ted should be dog of the week as he has bounded through the snow in Sussex daily despite accumulating many tiny (and many not so tiny) snowballs on his fur. He loves walking, barking, biscuits, fruitless digging and lying on his back - legs akimbo - snoozing on the sofa of an evening. Ted can 'Hi Five' and really loves a cuddle'. Ted... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
Week 49's Dog of the Week is... Ruby
Meet Ruby, the beagle. She is one and a half years old and loves to sleep, eat, have cuddles and sunbathe. Her owners, Madeleine, Fiona and Sam Owen say Ruby has been loving the festive time of year; especially fiddling with baubles on the Christmas tree, discreetly nibbling presents and nicking the pastry for the mince pies. Ruby... you are the PEDLARS DOG OF THE WEEK.
